Day Trip to Cape Race

We decided to take a trip out to the Cape Race lighthouse. They were having a special exhibit to mark the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic. It was a long day and the light was really harsh but we had a great time. Enjoy the pics.

Trailer Fire

Got a call this morning that there was a fire last night at the lot we store our trailer. Luckily ours wasn’t damaged but it was 4-5ft from 1 of 3 that were destroyed. I haven’t heard anything on the news sites so I thought I’d post it up.

Ours is on the left.

Tis the Season

Took in the St. John’s Christmas Parade, the Victoria Christmas Parade and checked out the Festival of Lights in Bay Roberts. Here’s a few photos.

The kids and Melisa got to ride on the A & M float this year. They were pretty stoked.

After the parade there was a community get together, we took advantage and got the kids’ photo with Santa and Mrs Claus. Nik also won the door prize, a huge stocking packed with stuff!

Here’s a photo my wife took of yours truly and the finished painting of my photo. I’m really pleased at the way it turned out. Hats off to Rod Hand and Island View Gallery!

My Photo as a Painting

Last November I won a contest to have one of my photos turned into a painting. This morning, Island View posted a progress photo and it’s looking pretty great. I can’t wait to see it when its finished.

Here’s the photo that’s being painted:

and the painting so far

Head on over to the Island View site, they’re a great bunch of people.

Lester’s Farm

Fall is always a great time to visit the farm. We try to go before the craziness of Pumpkinfest so we can leisurely walk through and enjoy ourselves.

A little out of focus, but I feel that this captures my oldest pretty well.
